Geneva is still an amazing place to visit & explore new places.
“NERNIER & YVOIRE” ; small villages very close to Geneva – 40 mins driving to the border in France. Famous so quite busy by the tourists but it is worth it to enjoy the view & the scenery of it. I specially love the stones houses with plants growing around it & of course the lake. It is a romantic destination for the lovers of nature.
You can try to find all the way on your walk in the village, the grave words on stones…
“Gorge of Allondon” ; Want a peaceful place to go & do whatever you want to do ? 30 mins drive from Geneva into France in the natural reserve with a river.. A beautiful place to go for a walk, a picnic, a photo shooting… You will see also a high stone bridge – dramatic scenery along the river.. It is a peaceful place where some people from Switzerland come to relax for the weekend. If you want to go & feel alone – Go during the week.
We went there with my best friend to take some photos ; I was more the model that time so this photo following is not mine. Definitely a place to go to breath some fresh air if you have a car. It is not easy to find but you will probably be driving a couple of time on the bridge until you discover it is just under there…
“St Genis Pouilly” ; 20 mins from Geneva with a car – I sadly heard it was different now but it still there ( for the moment ). A big activity center to play tennis ( in & out ), bowling, bar, pool, french bowls, & many more… had been burned into flame years ago & had never been destroy to re build something instead.
It is a dangerous but exciting place to go to take photos ( or go to tag on the rest of walls inside ). It is like time just stopped & preserved that place as it is & let the nature work on it. We decided to have a photo shoot in there, I was amazed by what I saw just there… I am in love ( unconditionally ) of graffiti & ruins.. So combining both, it is just as perfect as it can be for me.
The place is huge & difficult to access. You will probably ( as we did, or not… ) find a little whole into the fences & walk into a little bush until you will be in.
But hurry up as I am not sure it will stay there for a long time still.
