Fireworks 2014 ; Next to the town of “Tunbridge Wells”, a little village named “Pembury” organise the annual “Pembury Fireworks” who it takes place in the evening in November with the count down at 19:30. Get there early & wrap up warm as you should not forget that you are in England. Lower Green Road recreation ground is the appointment for you & your family. Please note no parking in the venue, you will have to walk or park in close locations nearby. It is a free entry but a collection is taking place at the end of the event. If you are lucky, it will be on a dry grass that you are going to stand for the show.
If you go with children, take maybe some ear plugs as it can be too loud. Enjoy the wonderful colors of each of it & if you want, take photos as I did & enjoy each of the photos !!
The Pantiles ; The Pantiles is a Georgian colonnade in the town of Royal Tunbridge Wells. Formerly known as “The Walks” & “the Parade”, it leads from the well that gave the town its name. You will find multiple shops, restaurants with terrace, events during the year. It is a festive place & you should have a look on the website of “The Pantiles” to get all the information for your journey.

In summer, you can rent a paddle boat to enjoy the lake. Lots of bends are provided in the park & beautiful walk / run to do around it. you will find all the information on the website about “Dunorlan Park“. Bring a little picnic, a cover, some sunscreen ( if it is summer ) & enjoy the peaceful & quiet park who is still close to the main road who join “Tunbridge Wells” to “Pembury Village” & other roads to Hastings…
Dog Walker ; In England, the profession to be a dog walker is famous & considered. You will find everywhere someone who does it. The thing in a little village is to have your neighbors who does it, & then, use the same people. There also people who baby sit them for days or weeks, or even months.
It is also, regrettably, a place where a lot of organisations are there to take back dogs on the streets & try to find them new homes. A lot are in serious danger & traumatized. This website “Give a Dog A Home” is the one where a friend & my cousin are working in to save & give another chance to dogs to live a happy life with a new family. If you don’t have space for a dog, you can also donate to help them, thank you.
Halloween ; TRICK OR TREAT – This event in England is HUGE ! They just love to get a Halloween’s costume & make their houses crazy scary & party all night ( for the grow up ) & go to chase people for some treats for the kids. Of course, the only part that I disagree with, is the ***** cold & walking for hours in it. But, the fact that every houses in a village have their pumpkins home made with the lights are very friendly & funny. If the light is inside the pumpkins it is to say that they got treats. If it is shut it down, it is because there are no more treats in the house. Brilliant & entertaining for the children.
So, in my English family, it is of course a tradition to make the pumpkins, to decorate the house & garden. Have fun around the houses & the scary mood on the streets.
